Waiving clauge is a failure by Blake. Rly dont like waiving him. But atleast they get first claim back on him im pretty sure.

Clague had 4 years to secure a spot on the blueline during a time of huge turnover, yet was consistently beaten out by defensemen with less hype than him. Being 23 and with Durzi looking decent and Clarke and Grans being only a year or two away, he was running out of opportunities, anyways. I don't see it as a big loss. I think that fans hyped him up too much in the first place. That said, it was dumb to waive him over Maatta.

This for me is why it hurts. Plus he looked good in his call up. But with Durzi coming up and looking good all things considered for his first time. I just hate seeing Maatta saved while we lose a 23 year old.

Osprey - I just saw your response to me from yesterday. Thanks for that

I agree with you guys. It’s tough to see a young guy put on waivers before someone like Maata - though I sometimes think he’s been a bit of a scapegoat on his former teams that suffer from struggling defenses (Chicago being a good example).

I didn’t think Clague was all that bad from what I saw of him (had some trouble watching Kings games this season so far). Durzi looks promising but I’m curious how he looks with more reps.

I might get beat up a bit here (haha) but I really like Edler back there.
